Tiger Game - May 2008

Well, AHS tried to do their part back in May to help the Tigers turn their season around. How could a 19-3 victory not do just that? We witnessed the most runs scored and the most lopsided Tiger victory at Comerica Park - ever. Yes indeed, about 70 of the AHS faithful saw a real laugher. It was one of those game that you dream of. The Tigers were rolling up hit after hit and run after run and demolished the Twins. Unfortunately, the Twins are now and first and our poor Tigers wallowing in 3rd. I hate to say it, but last night's game might have been the crusher - giving up a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 14th to the White Sox might have taken what little wind was in their sails, clean out. However, we can proudly say , we were at the best game of the year, or ever (next to Verlanders no-no) at Comerica.

Run for the Money

Granted being able to run is not necessarily the sole indicator of being in good health, but sure is a pretty decent barometer. With the trend in today's day and age to be for Americans to be more prone to being out of shape than in shape, I am offering up an easy way to make money. If you are an employee working at least 60 hours per month, I am offering the following bonus:

run a mile under 9 minutes - $1,000
run a mile under 10 minutes - $500
run a mile under 11 minutes - $200
Beat me in a 6 mile run (I am not that fast) - $2,000

How we will qualify this? Contact me and we will set up a time and place as soon as you are ready to do it. If we have multiple people ready to go, we will coordinate a Saturday to schedule our runs.

Professional Communication and Documentation Seminar

Nurses flowed into the conference rooms of the Southfield Holiday Inn on Wednesday, June 6th to claim seven CEU’s for participating in a seminar presented by American Healthcare Services

AHS Director of Nursing, Laura Talos, presented the two-part seminar on Professional Communication and Documentation. Talos first covered proper legal nursing documentation and appropriate communication in the workplace. Attendees then took a break to visit with exhibitors and have a quick lunch before returning for the second part of the seminar covering legal issues related to nursing practice.

All of us at AHS would like to thank everyone who participated in the seminar. We would also like to extend a special thanks to our exhibitors: Primerica, Arbonne International consultant Carolyn Wills, PES Advance Extra Care and Lauralex Uniforms.

Due to the success of June’s seminar AHS will be hosting another conference covering professional communication and documentation in Southfield in October. If you would like to be notified of this, or any other educational event please email admin@americanhealthcareservices.com to be added to our mailing list. Please check back often for more details.
